The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Therapeutic Recreation division provides recreation and athletic programs for residents of all ages, including adaptive programs and facilities for persons with disabilities, by addressing the needs of individuals living with disabilities through a continuum of specialized therapeutic recreation program services.
Adult Unified Bocce is a 7 week program where participants with and without intellectual disabilities learn how to play bocce and play competitive team games. At the end, there is a championship where the gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the highest scoring teams

Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. Participants compete in teams of three and try to throw a ball with bells embedded inside it into the opponents' goal.

This class is geared towards individuals with physical disabilities and limited mobility. Attendees will benefit from a combination of mid to high intensity cardio and weight training to improve overall strength, endurance, function, and movement.

This is a crafts program for participants to make artwork using a variety of recycled and/or natural materials. The program will be focused on ways to celebrate our appreciation for reusing materials that are a part of our daily lives and provide a creative way to recycle everyday items.

This is an inclusive low impact exercise class for people of all abilities. A variety of seated and standing range of motion and cardio exercises will be presented. Some benefits include calorie burn, improved range of motion, cardio fitness, circulation, strength, balance and muscle tone. Social distancing precautions will be implemented.
